Korean Night: Dongnae

Join us at The Hero on Tuesday 4th of August in the first-floor dining room, for a one-night-only collaboration featuring a special set menu from Dongnae.

Founded by chef-owners Kyu Jeon and Duncan Robertson, Dongnae opened in Bristol in 2024 as an evolution of their much-loved first restaurant Bokman.

Drawing on Kyu’s upbringing in Seoul and the pair’s experience in leading European kitchens, Dongnae focuses on exceptional ingredients, meticulous technique and traditional Korean processes. The restaurant is renowned for its extensive in-house fermentation programme and is believed to be one of the few Korean restaurants in the UK producing its own artisanal doejang, gochujang and makgeolli.

The menu will include a few signature dishes such as Octopus & Mutton Fat Kkochi, Crab & Jellyfish Naengchae, Doenjang Jiggae and a Ceremonial-Grade Uji Matcha Terrine.
